Distortion – Frustrerad (1982)

October 17:th 2012 – Some punk some hard rock

Distortion – Frustrerad

Vaxpropp Records – VAX 001- 1982- 7″

I have seen this EP before but it never caught my attention until I read about it just a month ago. As it was sitting on an auction, I make a last-minute bid and here it is.

Distortion started out as a hard rock act that for one EP temporary converted to punk music. As they were from Järpen which is quite close to the Norwegian border, they decided to record this EP in Trondheim in Norway.

The hard rock influences is more obvious on face B on this record including the guitar solos. I prefer face A and is quite satisfied with the purchase of this record. As I also ripped all songs, the song Frustrerad is now in my iPod as well.

I have no idea what happened to the band after this EP but there are some more info on WildDevilRules so check that out.

I think most of the songs sounds more like lo-fi hard rock than punk. But that’s me.

Long time since I played this one, but I agree with the à-side being the better one. Said the same thing when I posted it at kbdrecords.

I really like the first song “Frustrerad” – I don’t know why but the riffs reminds me of Sator and the other songs reminds me of Sabotage 81. It might not make sense …
Here is the KBD post by the way http://www.kbdrecords.com/2008/06/10/distortion-st-7/

Got something to say?
