December 8th 2013 – An obscure Japanese compilation Totsugeki Partisan Rocker – Compilation Sanzokuban Records – E-8192 – 1987 – Flexi – Single Sided Buying flexis is to some extent like buying lottery tickets. Apparently the manufacturing process is not producing a consistent product. It might be so that a perfect looking copy just refuse to play without skipping whilst another that look quite beaten-up play perfrect (with the exception of surface noise). When playing a flexi it’s a good idea to put it on a good flat record to start with. This specific flexi required increasing the needle pressure on my Grado Gold from recommended 1,5 grams to 3 grams to avoid skips, dispite looking “perfect”. Okay, enough about the technique, here is one of the most hard-to-find Japanese compilation flexis – good too: 突撃! パルチザンロッカーズ I believe that at least two of the bands on this Japanese compilation flexi were from Morioka City and one is from Akita City. Also the release is most likely around 1987 but I’m not sure. First out is Calism, Followed by Heterodox and Gash. To my knowledge they don’t appear on any other release. I would like to have more info on this release and the bands as well. ♬ Flexi (MP3 320 kbps). Songs: Jaison (by Calism) / Slavish Dance (by Heterodox) / Kill The Dirty (by Gash).
