The area of Avesta / Hedemora / Fagersta (Sweden) were a seedy place back in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Most of the bands had some heritage from mighty Asocial, either through members or influences. Avesta’s Uncurbed formed in 1990. At that time Kenneth “Dåren” Wiklund was in the fist set-up of the band (Distrust, Asocial, Centinex) and at Asocial’s Tommy Berggren and Tomas Andersson has at various points been in Uncurbed, non of them on this tape however. To my knowledge Uncurbed was active until 2011. The recording of this tape was produced by notorious metalhead Dan Swansö (what has he not been involved in?) at Gory Sound in Örebro (the studio is now called Unisound). This studio sort of replaced the Death Metal studio Sunlight in Stockholm and is accountable for endless top-notch death and black metal recordings.

Some about this tape, it’s a blistering and driven tape, it pulverize a lot at the time. It was later re-leased on CD by the German label Lost and Found Records. By the way, I’m not sure this is legit tape, I guess it’s a dupe, anyone knows how the real tape should look like, please leave a message.

That looks like Johan Janssons handwriting on the tape.
