Vains – School Jerks (1980)

August 30:th 2013 – Seattle punk

Vains – School Jerks

No Threes Records ‎– N3-004 – 1980- 7″

It was 1,000 copies pressed of this 7″. The first one had, like this one, a stock card sleeve – the later one had a xerox sleeve. Apparently the record was also sold without sleeve.

I am not really collector of American punk, I got less than 50 records and is looking for another 20 records. My US hardcore collection is more complete with some + 500 records.

This little band had Duff McKagan on bass – he is more famous for playing bass in Guns N’ Roses. Duff was also in Fastbacks, at least the only record I got with them – It’s Your Birthday / You Can’t Be Happy – single. I have a vague memory that he also was in The Fartz but am not sure.

In some areas I am completist collector (hardcore and Nordic Country punk) meaning I even purchase records I don’t like. This one I acquired because it got three awesome punk rock tunes – check it out!

Full EP: ♬ School Jerks / The Fake / The Loser (MP3 320 kbps).

I believe Duff is singing on the song “the Fake”. The other members where Criss Crass (guitar, vox) and someone called Andy Freeze on drums.
